Here’s a few pieces I came across on the Benztown Blog, produced by Matt Nikolic.  I absolutely love the sound!  Check ‘em out:

I’ve been working on a library of uniquely styled sounds for quite some time now.  I think it’s finally big enough to release, and with all my excitement about that, I started messing around and made a demo!  Check it out!

While I don’t yet know whether I’ll release it independently, or under the umbrella of another company, I can’t wait to get this stuff out there!  I’ve still got a ton of categorizing, ‘metadataing’ and mastering to do, but stay tuned, I’ll let you know when it’s ready!

This library is absolutely incredible, and at only $69, it’s a must have!  It’s created by Jean-Edouard Miclot (JEDSOUND)  Watch the video:

And here’s a video of some of JEDSOUND’s recording sessions for what became the tweaked sounds in the library:

Twisted Tools says:

TRANSFORM is an extensive collection of field recordings, sound effects and designed sounds developed by sound designer Jean-Edouard Miclot (a.k.a. JEDSOUND). Bundled with sample mappings for many popular formats, TRANSFORM’s painstakingly recorded and processed sounds will find their home in the arsenals of sound designers, editors and music producers alike.

TRANSFORM features over 1.6 Gigabytes of 24-bit/96khz audio, all meticulously embedded with Soundminer enriched metadata and processed using a plethora of sound design tools, such as Symbolic Sound’s Kyma. Whether you’re a sound designer needing a massive Hollywood impact, an editor looking for a radio stinger or a musician wanting to add some ice crunch to a snare…or bass wobbles made from a processed moose, TRANSFORM has something for you.

To increase productivity and speed up workflow, Transform comes with sampler presets for the EXS24MKII, Kontakt, Battery, Maschine and Reaktor as well as the all new MP16c sampler for *Reaktor. To top it off, we’ve included MP16c templates for Maschine, Kore and TouchOSC for the iPad, as well as bonus material by Richard Devine.

IWANTDRUMS!!!!!

17Nov11

Here’s a VERY cool service where, if you’ve written a song and need live (or MIDI) drums, this guy will play your drum tracks for you!  I’m not sure about pricing, but it’s a no-brainer idea!!!

More info on the website.

And here’s a few more videos of the guy in action:

Here’s some delicious video goodness from Brent Heber, focusing on some sometimes forgotten features of the Worlds most powerful audio editing platform. (yes, Pro Tools)  Watch below, or read more on his website, PROTOOLSPROFESSIONAL.COM.  This stuff is great, and includes a wealth of information you need to know!

Thanks Ryan!  Read the post on his blog or below:

I always like to inform my fellow producers about cool new services.  And….here is a cool new service!

SD-Depot from Chris Fonte:  I have respected Chris’ work for quite some time and this was a refreshing nugget to stumble across.  I asked him a little about it.  It’s a constantly updated service with a monthly fee (or pay a little more for a single month).  You can also save some cash and buy a year.  It is primarily fx based with some rhythmic elements built in.  But he says he is letting it evolve as needed and everything sounds cutting edge to me and very USABLE.  Everyone knows the more filler – the less useful a service is.  This seems to have very little filler.

FYI:  I don’t have it…yet.  But if you do get it let me know or just comment here (or the Facebook post) and let the world know what you think.

Price: I think its middle of the road.  You can spend a lot more and a little less on other packages.  But it sounds like, as far as the amount of content you get, it has high value.  Of course honestly, am I going to waste time writing a blog post if I don’t think it has high value? (the answer is no)

Here is a link to the site where you can grab free sounds and get all the pertinent details.

Takoma Media has released Antique Movie and Still Cameras.  Great for re-creating old news reels for radio or layering with other effects for whatever!

The creator, Richard Humpries, calls it:

A collection of 7 different antique movie and still cameras. Great shutter clicks, wind ups, wind downs, and mechanical rattles of small devices past their prime. Recorded with a Sanken CSS5 and a Senheisser MKH 30-40 pair.

The library is available in several resolutions, but the “high res” 24-bit 96 KHz version is on my list for the near future!

I’m DEFINITELY going to be getting this library when it comes out later this month (November 10)!

Find out more at Hiss and a Roar.

Pretty cool library for sound designing (at 24-bit, 96 KHz so it’s great for manipulation and mangling).

Best of all, it’s FREE!!!

Fred Pearson, the creator, says:

‘AAS-003 Balloon Squeaks and Creaks ’ is a pack containing various Squeaks, Creaks, Plucks, Warbles, Stresses and more, created from Balloons.
This pack was designed as a little thank you to everyone who has shown their support for Arrowhead Audio so far.

Here’s the demo:
